Rerouting

Name corrections are permitted FOC on the pure BA fully unused tickets no later than 4h before departure.
 
Self-managed name corrections - to be performed in GDS in the following scenarios:
  • Name correction up to 3 characters
  • Incorrect gender title which can be amended to correct customer gender (e.g. Mr Lee Smith to Mrs Lea Smith).

Procedure:

  • Update the name in the PNR
  • Add OSI: BA NAME CORRECTION POLICY
  • Reissue the tkt FOC:
    • All taxes including YQ must be recalculated as per the date of ticket reissue
    • Carry forward all deal numbers and endorsements
    • Ensure Secure Flight and APIS data matches the corrected name to avoid issues at the airport

Name corrections requiring BA authorization:

  • Corrections of nickname to proper name (e.g. Deb to Deborah, Bill to William)
  • Name reversals where multiple last names exist (e.g. Rodriguez-Perez instead of Perez-Rodriguez)
  • Change in last name due to marriage or divorce

Also, name corrections can be handled in the following scenarios:

  • Aer Lingus prime flights and BA*EI
  • American Airlines prime flights (excluding booking classes: U, T, R, X and Z) and BA*AA
  • Iberia flights operated by Iberia, Air Nostrum, Iberia Express and BA*IB.

Relevant supporting documents are mandatory (passport, marriage/divorce certificate etc.)

Procedure:

  • Insert the following SSR or OSI in the PNR:
    • AMA: SSROTHSBA – CORRECT NAME JON SMITH SHOULD BE JOHN SMITH/P2
    • SABRE: 3OSI BA CORRECT NAME JON SMITH SHOULD BE JOHN SMITH/P2
  • Mail relevant supporting documents to:
  • Contact Trade Helpdesk and quote your external reference number received in the confirmation email
  • The Trade Helpdesk will validate the documents and send the authorization through the PNR.
  • Updated the name in the PNR
  • Add OSI: BA NAME CORRECTION POLICY
  • Reissue the tkt FOC:
    • All taxes including YQ must be recalculated as per the date of ticket reissue
    • Carry forward all deal numbers and endorsements
    • Ensure Secure Flight and APIS data matches the corrected name to avoid issues at the airport

***There are some exceptions (i.e. no free seats in availability) when BA will need to update and reissue tickets on its own. In these cases we will lose the PNR ownership and we will need to get a receipt of the exch tkt from BA before sending the email confirmation to our customer. Each subsequent vol or invol exch must be done by BA itself.***

  • May keep unutilized ticket coupons open as long as unutilized segments are cancelled from the PNR before departure - NO SHOW not permitted;

  • For fully unutilized or partially used tickets;

  • May change the date & routing (origin & destination) ONLY for tickets issued before 7th June 2022.

Cancel PNR prior departure. Insert the following OSI: 

  • OSI BA BWC COVID19 - tickets issued  from 3d March 2020 up to and including 7th June 2022;

  • OSI BA LHRCAP22 - tickets issued from 8th June 2022 for travel departing from Heathrow.

 

Reissuance instructions:

  • We can use the same booking class or a higher one;

  • Waive rebooking fee;

  • Insert OSI  in case reissue must be done in a new PNR:

    • OSI BA BWC COVID19 - tickets issued  from 3d March 2020 up to and including 7th June 2022;

    • OSI BA LHRCAP22 - tickets issued from 8th June 2022 for travel departing from Heathrow.

  • Requote and collect any applicable difference of fare, taxes, fees, charges and surcharges in case of a different booking class by using ATC;

  • The newly issued fare rules and ticket validity will apply. The original non-ref amount must remain non-ref, insert in ENDO BOX: FE BWC COVID19/ NONREF/.... leaving any other endorsement info in the box;

  • Any residual value is non-refundable and non-exchangeable;

  • Any associated EMDs for XBAG to the original ticket must be refunded as non-transferrable. Customer will need to purchase XBAG online if still required on new journey

 

Bookings ticketed from 08 June 2022 will no longer be covered under this policy and any applicable Change fees will be governed by the fare rules on the ticket and the standard conditions of carriage - unless the departure starts from LHR.
